Food Drive @ ODU

Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia
Sponsored by the ODU Women’s Center
December 07 - December 18, 2009
Did you know…
  • -Poverty rates are higher for women than men.
  • -Women are poorer than men in all racial and ethnic groups.
  • -Black and Latina women face particularly high rates of poverty.
  • -Women are paid less than men, even when they have the same qualifications.
  • -Women spend more time providing unpaid care giving than men.
  • -Domestic and sexual violence can push women into a cycle of poverty.
Foodbank Top Ten Wanted List:
-Canned Soups
-Canned Juice
-Canned Vegetables
-Cereal
-Crackers
-Macaroni and Cheese
-Pasta
-Pasta Sauces
-Peanut Butter
-Water
